HonorBuilt’s staging and configuration logistics are creating a win for Black Bear Diner’s brand-wide Kitchen Display System (QSR Automations by Crunchtime) rollout across all 120 locations. Nearly halfway complete, this project showcases the critical role that accurate staging, configuration, and coordinated logistics play in protecting restaurant operations during large-scale technology upgrades.
“This partnership is a great example of how all teams came together to create a seamless, stress-free rollout for Black Bear Diner. By implementing ConnectSmart Kitchen, we’re able to reduce chaos in kitchens and increase productivity overall,” said Maris Laipenieks, QSR Automations’ Director of National Accounts
HonorBuilt and QSR Automations have collaborated on multiple deployments serving brands including Zaxby’s, Mellow Mushroom, Jim ‘N Nicks, Starbird Chicken, and Pizza Ranch. The relationship is built on a depth of knowledge, training, and experience with QSR Automation’s products. HonorBuilt brings extensive hardware and industry expertise, while QSR Automations delivers proven kitchen technology.
For the Black Bear Diner project, HonorBuilt is leveraging its coast-to-coast operations from its Atlanta and Phoenix logistics centers to reduce shipping costs and coordinate precise delivery timing. All hardware is received, staged, configured, and tested by HonorBuilt’s logistics team before being packed and shipped to each location. Careful preparation prevents on-site surprises and gives franchise owners confidence that installations will proceed without disrupting service.
“HonorBuilt is an excellent partner for our POS and KDS deployment,” said Joanna Dean, Vice President of I.T. & Culinary Services at Black Bear Diner. “All equipment is staged, tested, and configured accurately at their Logistics center before shipping. As a result, our teams are confident that the hardware is ready upon arrival. The logistics coordination is strong, with accurate shipments, on-time delivery, and careful attention to costs throughout the project. The installations have gone smoothly because the preparation work is executed effectively.“
The Black Bear Diner deployment reinforces a core principle in restaurant technology rollouts: preparation and partnership reduce risk. When configuration is handled correctly before equipment reaches the field, installations proceed faster, franchise owners avoid revenue loss, and support teams spend less time troubleshooting avoidable issues.
